Flora and the Worri
Flora and the Worri is a self-driven illustrated children’s book. The picture book discusses Flora and her personification of anxiety, the Worri, throughout their journey through town. The picture book also discusses the topics of anxiety and grounding tactics.
This project was traditionally painted using gouache and watercolour. Further details were added through Photoshop and Procreate.
“now she winks her bright eyes at the ‘Worri’, scrunches her freckled nose, and starts wiggling her sock and boot-covered toes. the ‘Worri’ has shrunk down, laughing curled up in her hands repeating her words back to her again.
she smiles down at him with a wide grin, for Flora and the Worri are ready to get up again, ready to restart, and ready to begin”
